Toyota has been hard at work developing new and innovative technologies to help make driving safer for you and those around you. At Lake Charles Toyota you'll find a complete lineup of vehicles that include Toyota Safety Sense, a suite of advanced driver assistance features that scan the world around you and monitor your driving habits to help keep you safe. One of the latest innovations in the Lane Tracing Assist, and we're here to help you understand just how it works.
The first thing you'll want to do when activating Lane Tracing Assist is to ensure that both your Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Warning are turned on. This combination of features will in-turn automatically activate Lane Tracing Assist by scanning multiple factors all at once.
The Lane Departure Warning takes in information from lane markings painted on the road to understand where exactly your lane is, and can even understand gentle corners and sweeps in the road or highway. Meanwhile, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is locked onto the vehicle ahead and gives the system a way to anticipate upcoming curves in the road. Together they activate a gentle steering assist that helps keep you centered in your lane. Rather than waiting until you're nearly out of the lane to offer that assistance, Lane Tracing Assist ensures you stay in the center of the lane where it is as safe as possible. Subtle adjustments will be made automatically to help keep you from drifting, but it is important to note that this is not an autopilot feature. In fact, it will turn off Lane Tracing Assist if you leave your hands off the wheel for any length of time.
