I called and spoke with Chris Damian at the Toyota dealership on Wednesday night, fully expecting the usual car-buying headache. Instead, I got a certified dealership Jedi. I said, “Hey, I want to trade in my Honda Pilot and pay outright for a Corolla,” and Chris basically said, “These are the cars you’re looking for,” like he was waving a lightsaber of customer service magic.
He found the exact car I had in mind, walked me through the trade-in process (which included a car both me and my ex on it—cue dramatic music), and somehow made it all so painless. He even handed my toddler Cheez-Its like a pro and Corey from finance gave her a rubber duck and survived her fussy toddler chaos with pure patience and kindness.
By Friday evening, I was cruising off the lot in my shiny 2023 gold-certified Toyota Corolla like a galactic queen. Then…the universe decided to throw in some chaos.
About 10 minutes after leaving the lot, I caught a flat tire. With my toddler in the back and my anxiety meter at 1000, seriously, hello hot mess express, I called Chris mid-breakdown. Not all heroes wear capes—some just show up with a tire iron. He got there in minutes, aired up the flat to see if anything was wrong, realized it wasn’t fixable, changed my flat on the spot, and even checked in later to make sure my daughter and I made it home safely.
And if that wasn’t enough, this morning he came to my work, took the car back to the dealership, and replaced the tire with a brand new one. FOR FREE. That’s not customer service—that’s Jedi-level loyalty-building.
I left with a reliable, beautiful Corolla, lifetime oil changes, inspection stickers—and honestly, a new standard for what good customer service looks like. I came in just wanting a car solely in my name and paid off. I left with a new ride, a few laughs, and a full-blown dealership lightsaber-wielding legend on my side.
Seriously, go ask for Chris! The Force is strong with that one.
