At Lake Charles Toyota the health and safety of our staff and our customers is our top priority.  During the COVID-19 public health situation we are taking some extra measures to ensure that everyone who visits our facility can feel safe and healthy.  These are some examples of the extra precautions we are taking:
  • Our entire staff has been tested for SARS-CoV2 by a commercial testing agency on April 27th and any who tested positive were sent home with full pay until they are retested and confirmed to be negative.  (Due to HIPAA regulations we cannot discuss test results of our staff.)
  • Our entire facility has been disinfectant fogged multiple times before and after all our employees were tested.
  • Our entire facility is commercially cleaned with extra attention to disinfecting of all common-touch surfaces each weekend.
  • Any employees who test positive or exhibit any fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other flu-like symptom are being sent home with full pay for a minimum of 14 days.  Any employees who leave work due to symptoms will be re-tested before returning to work.
  • Extra hand sanitizer is available to all employees and customers in many common areas.
  • Disinfectant wipes are available to all employees and customers upon request.
  • Gloves and masks are available to all employees and customers upon request, although due to specific policy decisions their use is not required.  (More details on mask use best practices in subsequent points.)
  • Fresh air and sunshine are known to be two of the best disinfectants available.  We are leaving as many exterior doors open as often as possible to promote cross ventilation and eliminate stagnating air pockets.
  • Most interior doors are also being propped open wherever possible, to continue to encourage cross-ventilation and to reduce the number of required contacts with a common-touch surface.
  • All food and drinks (including popcorn, soft drinks, coffee, etc.) are being prepared and served by employees wearing single-use disposable gloves to reduce contacts with food items and common-touch surfaces.
  • Our children's' play area and video arcade are temporarily out of commission due to the difficulty of ensuring their cleanliness.
  • Common-touch surfaces in customers' cars are wiped down with disinfectant wipes after service work is performed before the vehicle is returned to the customer.
  • MASK POLICY:  All employees will have a cloth face-covering on their person at all times.  Employees will put on their mask before engaging with a customer.  Due to the fact that interpersonal communication is critical to our ability to quickly and efficiently provide our services, and due to the fact that we are an essential business and are allowed to operate under normal conditions, mask use is not required for all employees at all times, and employees wearing a mask may remove it if the customer they are working with requests that they do so.
