At Lake Charles Toyota the health and safety of our staff and our customers are our top priority. During the COVID-19 public health situation we are taking some extra measures to ensure that everyone who visits our facility can feel safe and healthy. These are some examples of the extra precautions we are taking:
Our entire staff has been tested for SARS-CoV2 by a commercial testing agency and any who tested positive were sent home with full pay. (Due to HIPAA regulations we cannot discuss test results of our staff.) We have since re-tested dozens of employees in the subsequent months at our expense based on symptoms or suspected exposure to ensure that no one who is at work has SARS-CoV2.
Our entire facility is commercially disinfectant fogged every week in addition to our regular after-hours cleaning.
Our entire facility is commercially hand-cleaned with extra attention to disinfecting of all common-touch surfaces each week, by a professional sanitation company in addition to our regular after-hours cleaning.
Any employees who test positive or exhibit any fever, cough, or other flu-like symptom are being sent home with full pay. Any employees who leave work due to symptoms or a positive test will meet the CDC recommendations for safety before they return to work.
Each department has been issued a touchless thermometer to test employees' temperatures throughout the workday.
Multiple permanent liquid hand sanitizing stations have been installed throughout the dealership.
Multiple hand sanitizing wipe dispensers have been installed throughout the dealership.
Extra hand sanitizer is available to all employees and customers in many common areas.
Disinfectant wipes are available to all employees and customers upon request.
Gloves and masks are available to all employees and customers upon request, although due to specific policy decisions their use is not required in all cases. (More details on mask use best practices in subsequent sections.)
Fresh air and sunshine are known to be two of the best disinfectants available. We are leaving as many exterior doors open as often as possible to promote cross ventilation and eliminate stagnating air pockets.
Most interior doors are also being propped open wherever possible, to continue to encourage cross-ventilation and to reduce the number of required contacts with a common-touch surface.
All food and drinks (including popcorn, soft drinks, coffee, etc.) are being prepared and served by employees wearing single-use disposable gloves to reduce contacts with food items and common-touch surfaces.
Our children's play area and video arcade should be used with appropriate caution due to the difficulty of ensuring their cleanliness.
